Behind the Mirror - Edinburgh 2008

Hi There!

For those of you who have never heard of us, well now you have. theatre ad infinitum is a new international company based in London. We all trained at Ecole Internationale de Theatre Jacques Lecoq, Paris, and we all share a hunger for creating new and original physical theatre.

In Behind the Mirror, Ad Inf. present an hour of physical theatre comedy "that feels as if it flies by in about twenty minutes”, packed full of “mime, clowning, slapstick, pratfalls, a good hearted hero, a spirited heroine, and a delicious villain” (Emily Steel). To sum it all up:

Man loves Woman, Woman loves Man - but Man has a mirror image, hell-bent on ruining everything. Clearly, this is no time for Reflection. Behind the Mirror is a bizarre love tryst between a Man, his Fiancée and his mutinous Reflection... theatre ad infinitum bring you a cartoon world of fast-paced, incisive and touching nonsense: a unique opportunity to see a rare type of exhilarating physical theatre... without words.

Observer ‘Best of the Fringe’
“Inventive, very funny mime show (yes, really) … promising stuff from new Lecoq-trained company, Ad Infinitum”

“Comedy fired by the energy of all three performers ... A well-observed, well-executed slice of entertainment”.
- [Harry Werber, Total Theatre]

"Ingenious slapstick… moments of tender humanity… the beauty and simplicity of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton"
- [Broadway Baby]

“Where there are performers like Ad Infinitum… the spirit of Marcel Marceau will not die”. - [Barry Grantham, ExtraExtra]

Having previously performed at the Blue Elephant in London, we are very excited to be taking the show to the Pleasance Courtyard Beside this year. The performance begins at 12.15pm and is showing every day of the festival (30th July - 25th August) except monday 11th August.

We look forward to sharing this piece with as many people as possible, so come along, enjoy, and have a drink with us afterwards!

Thanks!
Ad Inf. Team
